The video above is Teresa Teng’s rendition of the song 月亮代表我的心 (yuèliang dàibiǎo wǒ de xīn) or "The Moon Represent My Heart" or in Bahasa Indonesia translated as "Bulan Melambangkan Hatiku", which is considered to be the classic mandarin love song. The song has been a favorite at performances and karaoke parlors for years.
I myself do not speak Mandarin but I love the melody of this song. From the search I've done I find that this song is very romantic and pure cheese.
Teresa Teng or 邓丽君; Pinyin: Dèng Lìjūn was a Taiwanese pop singer. She was known for her Chinese folk songs and ballads. Teng recorded songs not only in her native Mandarin but also in Cantonese, Hokkien, Japanese, English and Bahasa Indonesia. Along her career, Teng received many awards and performed in many countries. However, she never performed in China. She passed away at 1995 due to severe asthma. She was 42.
